Connecting minds, creating the future
Expo 2020 Dubai will be the first World Expo ever hosted in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) region. Expo 2020 is expected to attract 25 million visits, with 70 per cent of visitors projected to come from outside the UAE. There will be more than 200 participants including nations, multilateral organisations, businesses and educational institutions. To date, 190 nations from across the world have confirmed their participation at Expo 2020. ‘Opportunity’, ‘mobility’ and ‘sustainability’ are the main subthemes. More information to be found on the website.
Update
The global mega event will now run from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022, a delay that allows all participants to safely navigate the impact of COVID-19, and allows the World Expo to focus on a collective desire for new thinking to identify solutions to some of the greatest challenges of our time.
